BookTini’s summer schedule is filled with social activities to help us soak up the sun, but a few of our California chapters also added community service and charitable donations to their summer to-do lists.

BookTini’s July 2019 Cocktail: Imli Tequila Shots

July is our month to laugh out loud.

BookTini’s Humor themed selection, Erotic Stories for Punjabi Widows, follows a group of women in London’s Punjabi community as they learn creative (and erotic) writing.

With the culture in mind, we’re going with an Indian influenced cocktail for Drinks & Discussion. How? Mix a bit of imli with tequila, and take shots.

Oakland/East Bay Chapter Reads with McClymonds High School

Oakland/East Bay Chapter Reads with McClymonds High School

As the Whitney Houston song proclaims, we believe the children are our future. This is why the majority of BookTini’s community service events focus on encouraging young people to read in their spare time.

The Oakland/East Bay chapter of BookTini decided to keep this the running theme of their 2018 community service project by selecting the students of McClymonds High School in West Oakland to recieve free copies of the New York Times bestselling young adult fantasy novel, Children of Blood & Bone by Tomi Adeyemi.
